Adjacent to the largest wilderness area in Northwestern Connecticut, our acreage is pristine and Mother Nature's medicines plentiful. A lifetime of wildcrafting, organic gardening and extensive studies in herbalism stand behind these products and we are delighted to share them with you.
We strive to grow and forage the bulk of the herbs, plants and fungi used in our wellness products. As a micro farm, we have not been certified organic, but follow organic farming practices and our land is unspoiled by previous agriculture. Our acreage provides an abundance of wild mushrooms and native medicinal plants and we take great care to harvest sustainably.
Our offerings are all hand blended in house and change with the seasons.
Our tinctures are double extracted using only the purest, certified organic cane alcohol and occasional vegetable glycerine.
Tinctures are one of the oldest and widely used forms of plant medicine for good reason. As ancient people discovered centuries ago, alcohol is an amazing preservative for all types of plants. Once harvested, fresh herbs can quickly be placed into alcohol to preserve the full strength and vitality of the medicinal constituents.
Some medicinal plant constituents need water to break them down (water-soluble), while some require fat (fat-soluble). Alcohol breaks down fat-soluble constituents, making tinctures the most efficient way to access and absorb these nutrients. Our double extraction process uses both water and alcohol for maximum potency.
Unlike teas and capsules, tinctures do not rely on the digestive process to work. The alcohol in tinctures means that medicinal plant ingredients get absorbed directly into your bloodstream. In bypassing digestion, tinctures work faster and more efficiently. Much of what is consumed when ingesting encapsulated herbs is filtered out through the digestive process.
While we prefer tinctures for their potent medicinal properties, tea is also an effective and beautiful way to incorporate natural wellness into your daily routine. The ritual of tea preparation in combination with its hydrating effects aid in wellness on many levels. When enjoying our teas, we encourage you to pause and reflect while you sip and deeply inhale the steam.
